Company Profile - Overview

LHD Autos Ltd is a small family business which is UK limited registered company. We have been trading on the internet since 2002 and on eBay since 2003 where we have achieved the unusual status of being a Platinum Power Seller, due to our high level of customer service.

We stock brand new tax free LHD Land Rover's and Jaguar's for export to your home overseas and are able to buy to order nearly new ex-management Audi, BMW and Mercedes Benz direct from the factories in Germany.

We have no retail premises; we trade from a stunning farm, which is also our home, on the edge of the Cotswolds, near Witney in Oxfordshire. Because of this we only accept viewing by pre-arranged appointment.

We also sell unusual right hand drive collectors cars and classic motorcycles. UK and can deliver cars throughout the UK and can arrange delivery by transporters to Mainland Spain, Portugal and France.

LHD Brand New Cars

LHD Auto's buy cancelled orders of consignments of brand new LHD cars from Land Rover, Jaguar Audi and VW. Traditionally we have sold these vehicles to European garage chains but we have now started a direct sales arm, LHDautos.com, to retail to the ex-pat community in France, Spain and Portugal, at our incredibly low prices.

Due to us buying consignments of cancelled orders we have no ability to obtain new vehicles to a specific colour or trim, what is in stock is shown on this site and when sold we cannot re-order.

Registered onto UK export plates in your name, ready for registration in your chosen country, (we can arrange local registration in France and Spain after 6 months for a total of just Eur1000). For more information on export plates please phone.

New car stock is generally held in the East Midlands, UK.

Ex-Management Cars

We are able to source to order nearly new ex-management vehicles from:-

• Audi
• BMW
• Mercedes-Benz

Management vehicles are company cars supplied to the senior department staff and are usually 9-12 months old, very high specification, low mileage and good value.

These vehicles are generally offered for sale to the franchised dealer network as used stock, which means we rely on accurate descriptions not photos. Due to the price, which is usually 30% - 35% below list, they sell very quickly.

Ex-management cars are supplied on German export plates but can be registered in the UK tax paid, Spain or France.

LHD Used Cars

These cars are either bought by us direct from leasing companies to customer order or have been taken by us in part-exchange, some cars are Spanish registered, some French and others UK plated. These cars are usually 3 to 5 years old, with full service histories and guaranteed mileage's of circa 80k to 120k kilometres, (50k-75k miles).

French Registration

The re-registration of cars in France is quite straight forward. There are no import duties payable and if the car is less than 4 years old, if a UK registration V5, Certificate of Conformity, (or Attastation from DRIRE), proof of residence and valid insurance certificate is provided to your Prefecture, the procedure can be completed the same day. For vehicles over 4 years old the car will need a French CT, which is the equivalent of a MOT but it lasts for 2 years.

Spanish Registration

Re-registration of car in Spain can be a very costly exercise due to the fiscal charges. If you register a vehicle in Spain without owning it for 6 months, i.e. your name has not been on the registration document for at least 6 months, you have to pay the following duty:- Up to 2000cc - 7%, Over 2000cc - 12%. As you probably know, if you purchase a Spanish registered car from a private individual you also pay a 4% transfer fee.

To abide by Spanish law car, the car must be registered within 6 months of permanent residency. We can UK register and tax the car in your name, at a UK address, then on the 7th month of your ownership arrange for re-registration of the car in Spain. On this basis, it becomes classed as a personal import and the total registration charges and taxes, if using a local registration agent, become quite reasonable at circa 1000 Euros.

So to summarise, if you buy one of our vehicles, we can register it onto UK plates in your name, keep the car wherever you want, i.e. in Spain, then in the 7th month of ownership contact any registration agent to transfer the car onto Spanish plates and, with our prices, you will have saved yourself about 20% on local prices.
