The exterior of the car is generally very good though there are some marks, commensurate with the cars age all of which I have shown in the detailed images in the sections below.
The only marks which are worth noting are a small crack to the N/S/F bumper, a small dent to the passenger door near the door lock (which has been blanked) and a very very light 'palm' dent to the bootlid above the number plate.
There is very little corrosion on the car as it has been wayoiled from new, the cills and inner arches are all good, underneath is totally corrosion free in fact the only tiny area of corrosion is where the roof meets the boot but these are very small and do not detract from the look of the car which is excellent.
Under the bonnet, the car is in really incredible condition. You can see the benefits of the rust protection wax as there is no corrosion anywhere at all.
The engine is in great order and has just had a full service and a NEW CAM BELT fitted - it produces no smoke, has no oil leaks and has no faults.
The gearbox operates smoothly and the clutch is progressive and shows no signs of wear.
The interior is in exceptional condition. The carpets have no signs of wear, the dash is 'screw hole free' and the roof is watertight. The roof is in excellent condition both internally and externally.
Escorts generally suffer with corrosion. The underside of this escort is in exceptional condition with no major corrosion which is the result of Waxoyl protection.
The Escort Cabriolet drives straight and true. Whilst the 1600cc engine may not be the fastest thing on the road it is exceptionally economical both on fuel and for insurance.
The car represents excellent value. It is in excellent condition, has the desirable POWER HOOD, there is no corrosion, the car has been fully serviced, the cam belt replaced and is supplied with a new MOT!
